Here’s a real-world example of why it’s no longer safe to use Windows 7!

Posted on January 15, 2020

As you probably know, Windows 7 has now reached the end of its life cycle and Microsoft has stopped releasing security updates for it.

Numerous readers have asked me this question: “Is it still safe to use Windows 7 as long as I have a really good antivirus program installed on my machine?”

Unfortunately, the answer to that question is a great big NO!

Q&A: Why are Mac computers never referred to as PCs?

Posted on December 10, 2019

(#ad)

Question from Oliveen:  I’d like to ask a really dumb question (because I’m a dummy when it comes to technology lol).

I’m always seeing computers from HP, Dell, Acer and most every other computer manufacturer being referred to as a PC but no one ever refers to their Mac as a PC.

Why is that?

Here’s a simple way to always know where SPAMMERs got your email address from

Posted on November 14, 2019

If you’ve been using the Internet for more than five minutes you’re probably used to receiving SPAM messages in your email inbox.

I don’t know about you, but for me that’s one of the most irritating annoyances there is when using the Internet.

Q&A: Why do I have to sign in to some websites even after I’ve selected ‘Keep me signed in’?

Posted on August 21, 2019

Question from Gary:  If a website offers a “Keep me signed in” or “Remember me” option I always select it so I won’t have to sign in every time I visit that site.

But there are a couple of sites that I visit every day that occasionally require me to sign in even if I’ve previously checked the “Keep me signed in” or Remember me” option.

I don’t have to sign in to those sites every time, just occasionally. But it’s usually at least once or twice a week.

For some reason that really irritates me. Why do they even offer the option to stay signed in if they aren’t going to honor it?

But that’s just a rhetorical question. My real question is why is this happening and how can I fix it?
