These days it seems like everyone’s looking for ways to save money.
Of course there are the usual methods such as eating at home instead of going to a restaurant or watching Netflix instead of going out to watch a movie, but apparently some folks really think outside the box.
Even though you might wonder about a couple of them, there are actually people that use each and every one of the methods listed below to save a little cash on their everyday expenses.
Ready? Here goes…
1 – Some folks use bubble gum in place of glue.
And guess what? I can tell you from personal experience that it does work in a pinch (don’t ask!).
2 – Instead of buying condiments such as salt, pepper and catsup, some folks “stock up” every time they visit a fast food joint.
Ethical considerations aside, it does work.
3 – Instead of buying gas and oil for a lawn mower, some folks fence in their yard and buy a goat or two.
4 – Some folks spend most of their free time sleeping.
Hey, it’s hard to spend money while you’re “sawing logs” and dreaming about winning the lotto!
5 – And last, but certainly not least…
Some folks never buy toilet paper. They simply use a stack of cheap dollar-store washrags and wash them after they get “dirty”.
If you think about it, this isn’t all that different from when folks used to use cloth diapers.
But that being said, I think I’ll pass on this one!
There you have it – five very unusual things that some people do to save money.
In case you’re wondering, this post was written tongue-in-cheek. But hey, if one of these methods appeals to you, go for it!
Believe it or not, there are people out there who are actually doing each and every one of these things as we speak.
