As you do your Christmas shopping this year you’ll likely accumulate a collection of decorative paper shopping bags.
You know what I’m talking about. The bags the stores place your purchased items in after you pay for them.
Some of those shopping bags are probably quite nicely decorated with a variety of festive designs, making them a wonderful substitution for store-bought wrapping paper!
There are several advantages to using decorative shopping bags to wrap your gifts instead of wrapping paper:
1 – Shopping bags are completely free. Wrapping paper isn’t.
2 – The paper these bags are made of is thicker and stronger than wrapping paper so it’ll protect your wrapped gifts a lot better.
3 – Most gift-wrapping paper has a “cookie-cutter” look and feel to it. Even if the design is different it still has that “wrapping paper look to it.
If you wrap your gifts in paper culled from shopping bags instead your gifts will have a unique look and feel that’ll make them really stand out from the rest!
4 – “Recycling” shopping bags into wrapping paper helps keep a bit of extra wrapping paper out of the landfill.
After all, you’ll eventually have to dispose of the bags anyway so you might as well use them as wrapping paper first.
