Have you ever toured a home you were thinking about buying (or renting) and loved the way the furniture was arranged, but then found it difficult to duplicate that arrangement with your own furniture and decor after you moved in?
I have, and I can tell you that it’s very frustrating.
Well, a realtor friend once gave me a tip that completely eliminates that problem…
Simply take pictures of the furnished rooms while you’re touring the home and use them to recreate the furniture/decor arrangement if you end up deciding to take the house and move in!
Turns out that photos are a lot more reliable than memories when it comes to “remembering” the exact location and orientation of the various pieces of furniture, wall-hangings and other items that make up the overall decor.
When it comes time to furnish and decorate your new home simply pull out the pics you took and use them as a visual guide!
Of course you don’t have to replicate the previous owner’s decor exactly. You can, and should put your own “stamp” on it to make your new home your own.
But if you really loved the way a room was laid out while you were touring the home, photos will help you create that look as close as you want it to be!
And now, to finish up, here’s a fantastic short video featuring 10 questions you MUST ask before buying a house! I sure wish I had watched it before I bought mine. Check it out!
