Question from Frank: When I was younger cars came with a bank of gauges that would show you instantly if there was something wrong with the engine.
Newer cars have a temperature gauge, but that’s about it.
For example, why did they do away with the oil pressure gauge and replace it with the virtually useless “Check Engine” light?
